Act swiftly to address power crisis amid harsh winters: Altaf Bukhari to Govt

Srinagar, Nov 28:  Senior politician and Apni Party chief Altaf Bukhari Wednesday demanded that the J-K govt must address the ongoing power crisis amid harsh winters in the valley.

Bukhari said, reports of power outage from across Srinagar and other parts indicate that the power department is not adhering to its own schedule.

Bukhari said that the unscheduled and frequent power cuts in both metered and non-metered areas are causing immense problems for the people here.

“With the harsh winter and Chillai Kalan yet to begin, if the government fails to provide adequate power now, one can only imagine the situation in the coming days,” Bukhari wrote on his official x-handle.

“Officials say J&K faces a 700 MW power shortfall. The government must act quickly to bridge the gap between allocation and demand,” wrote Bukhari.
