Allu Arjun detainment: Ready to withdraw complaint, says victim’s husband

A few hours after actor Allu Arjun was detained by Chikadpally police on Friday (December 13, 2024), Magudampalli Bhaskar, the husband of Revathi — the woman who died in the stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during the premiere screening of Pushpa 2 — issued a statement that he is ready to withdraw the complaint lodged with the police. Mr. Bhaskar has also demanded the actor to be released.

The complaint which is part of the First Information Report had stated: “The reason for the incident is because of Sandhya 70 MM theatre management and the staff. The… crowd pushed and surged forward because of the actor Allu Arjun and his personal security staff.”

Actor Allu Arjun has been detained by Chikadpally police of Hyderabad on Friday (December 13, 2024) morning in connection with the stampede at Sandhya Theatre at the premiere of Pushpa-2 which that claimed a life.

“My son wanted to watch the movie…. took him to Sandhya theatre upon his insistence. Allu Arjun coming there is not his fault.. he is not connected to this case.. I wasn’t aware of his arrest too. I saw the news on my phone while I was in the hospital. If anything, I’m ready to withdraw the complaint,” he said. Mr. Bhaskar’s eight-year-old son suffered from severe injuries in the stampede and he was rushed to a private hospital.

Other family members said that they have been occupied between the final rites and prayer ceremonies on one side and rounds at the KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad. “We need time to process everything that is happening in this case. Our priority right now is for our child’s health to get better,” the child’s paternal uncle said.
