Government to Outsource Services at Jaipur’s Ayushman IPD Tower and Cardiac Institute, ET HealthWorld
Jaipur: Health minister Gajendra Singh Khimsar said on Monday the govt will outsource several services, including food court operations, housekeeping, helicopter ambulance, specific medical tests, patient registration, and building maintenance to private service providers at SMS’s Hospital’s upcoming Ayushman IPD Tower and Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences.
Khimsar emphasised, though, that medical services at the cardiac sciences institute and IPD tower will continue to be delivered by SMS Hospital‘s medical faculty and will not be operated in public-private partnership (PPP) mode.
Khimsar said the building of Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences on SMS Hospital campus will be ready within six months. Ayushman IPD Tower’s construction requires one year or more for completion, he said. Khimsar also spoke of plans to run diagnostic facilities at SMS and other major hospitals in PPP mode.
In June, the govt’s empowered committee for the IPD tower at SMS Hospital decided to construct the tower with 24 floors and assured that necessary financial arrangements would be made promptly. An underground parking facility for 600 vehicles will be developed at the IPD tower complex. Initially, parking for only 190 vehicles was planned, but considering the patient load, this was deemed insufficient, officials said.
