SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday constituted two high-level committees to ensure the successful organisation of the Khelo India Winter Games 2025.

The Organising-cum-Coordination Committee is headed by the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports. The Lieutenant Governor and the Chief Minister of J&K serve as Co-Chairpersons. Key members include the Director General of the Sports Authority of India, the Secretary of the Youth Services and Sports Department, and representatives from the Indian Olympic Association. This committee will provide overarching policy directions for the Games.

Similarly, the Executive Committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary of J&K, will oversee operational aspects such as infrastructure development, coordination among agencies, and supervision of projects. This committee will monitor venue readiness, review progress, and ensure smooth management of all activities related to the Games. It includes senior officials from the Tourism, Transport, and Health departments, alongside eminent sportspersons Gul Mustafa and Hafeeza Hassan.

Regular meetings of both committees have been mandated to ensure timely execution of tasks and the resolution of issues. (KNO)
