SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Valley continued to reel under intense cold wave conditions on the sixth night of Chilai Kalan. Srinagar and Qazigund recorded identical lows of -7.0°C, while Pahalgam dipped to -8.6°C.
Pulwama, Shopian, and Anantnag shared the coldest spots in the region, with all three recording a bone-chilling -9.3°C. Larnoo was freezing at -8.9°C, and Khudwani registered -8.0°C.
Zojila, known for its extreme weather, recorded a low of -25.0°C, making it the coldest location in the region. Budgam reported -7.7°C, Bandipora -7.3°C, and Ganderbal -7.0°C. Baramulla recorded a temperature of -6.1°C, Kulgam was at -6.2°C, Gulmarg at -6.0°C, and Sonamarg at -5.8°C.
In the Jammu region, temperatures were significantly milder. Jammu city recorded 6.6°C, while Ramban reported 7.6°C and Katra 8.0°C.
Colder spots in the region included Bhaderwah, which dipped to -1.1°C, and Padder, recording -7.7°C. Banihal registered a minimum of 0.7°C, Batote 1.7°C, and Kishtwar 1.6°C. Other recorded temperatures included Poonch at 2.7°C, Rajouri at 4.2°C, Reasi at 3.6°C, and Udhampur at 1.5°C.
Ladakh remained under severe cold conditions. Leh recorded -12.2°C, while Kargil dipped to -12.7°C.
