SRINAGAR: Zahoor Din and Suhail Mohammad Khan, from Kashmir, have been selected to represent India at the prestigious International Snow Sculpture Competition in the United States of America.
Zahoor Din from Singhpora Pattan (north Kashmir) and Suhail Mohammad Khan from Newa Pulwama (south Kashmir) will participate in the international event starting on January 19, 2025, in the USA. This globally acclaimed competition unites master sculptors worldwide, providing a platform to showcase artistic excellence in the unique medium of snow.
Din, a skilled sculptor, and Khan, a deaf and mute artist whose creativity speaks volumes, have earned their place among the world’s finest. Their selection highlights their exceptional talent and Kashmir’s rich artistic traditions, renowned for centuries-old craftsmanship. The region, long celebrated for its artisanship, is now gaining international recognition for its snow sculpting artistry.
Zahoor expressed his excitement, saying, “This is a dream come true. I hope to make my country and my region proud. This platform is an opportunity not just for us but for the art of Kashmir to be celebrated worldwide.”
