Jammu, Nov 30: Mehbooba asks LG Sinha to review ropeway to Vaishno Devi shrine promptly
Mehbooba in post on X wrote “Today at Katra met with Maa Vaishnodevi Devi Sangarsh Samiti and others who had been protesting against the proposed Ropeway to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Devi shrine. Their concern is that this project will adversely impact the livelihoods of thousands of shopkeepers, labourers and others . It’s disturbing to see a growing trend of converting sacred sites into tourist attractions, undermining the true purpose and spiritual significance of pilgrimage. Request the Lieutenant Governor, who heads the Shrine Board , to review this decision promptly and find a solution that balances development with the needs and sentiments of the local community” .
