Erode: The district health department has arranged two medical camps on the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border in the wake of the neighbouring state reporting a few HMPV cases.

One camp is located at Bargur hills near Anthiyur, while the other is at Pulinjalur check post close to Hassanur in Thalavadi taluk, according to a health department official. “All people entering Tamil Nadu from Karnataka will be screened for fever at these medical camps. The aim is to prevent the transmission of HMPV.”

He said blood samples would be collected from the people having symptoms of fever and cold and the same would be sent to the Erode govt medical college and hospital at Perundurai for further analysis.

The official also mentioned that they would also monitor the health condition of those found with the symptoms of fever and cold.
