Sonmarg ( J&K) January 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated Z- Morh tunnel in Sonmarg connecting this world famous tourist attraction for all seasons of the year.
PM interacted with construction workers and enquired about all the details of the work put in the construction of this 6.4 km long tunnel . It has been constructed at the cost of more than Rs. 2700 crore.
Apart from boosting the tourism sector and economy of the region , the tunnel will also serve as an all- time strategic asset for the country located in high snowfall region having borders with China and Pakistan.
Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, LG Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah too were present on the occasion.
