PM Modi replies to J-K CM Omar Abdullah’s post on X

Srinagar, Jan 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today expressed his curiosity of visiting Jammu and Kashmir’s Sonmarg where he is scheduled to inaugurate Z-Morh Tunnel on January 13.

Replying to J&K CM Omar Abdullah’s posts on X about his aerial and surface review visit to the tunnel site, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he is eagerly waiting for the visit to Sonmarg for the tunnel inauguration.

He commended chief minister Omar Abdullah for pointing out the benefits of the tunnel both for tourism and local economy.

Taking to micro-blogging site X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said: “I am eagerly awaiting my visit to Sonmarg, Jammu and Kashmir for the tunnel inauguration. You rightly point out the benefits for tourism and the local economy”.

“Also, loved the aerial pictures and videos!.” PM Modi said on X.

Earlier chief minister Omar Abdullah visited Sonmarg to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. He was accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and other officers from police and civil administration.

“Visited Sonmarg today to review preparations for PM @narendramodi ji’s visit on Monday. The inauguration of the Z-morh tunnel will open Sonmarg to tourism all year round, Sonmarg will now be developed as a great ski resort. The local population will not have to leave in winter & the travel time to Kargil/Leh from Srinagar will also reduce,” CM Omar Abdullah said on X.

He also shared photos and aerial videos of the tunnel on his X-handle.
