Police attach immovable properties of terrorists under UAPA in Shopian

Shopian, Dec 05: In a significant move to counter terrorism, Shopian Police has taken strict action by attaching two(02) double-storied residential properties under Section 25 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (UAPA).

A police spokesperson said that one residential house registered in the name of Mohd Shafi Dar, father of terrorist Adnan Shafi Dar, resident of Wandina, on land measuring 04 marlas (Khasra No. 14) situated at village wandina and other residential house in the name of Abdul Majeed Koka, father in law of terror associate Sajad Ahmad Khah resident of Melhoura, on land measuring 07 Marlas (Khasra No. 1347/ min) situated at village Melhoora, both the properties are valued Rs. 50 lacs. The relevant entries has been made in revenue records by the revenue authorities and notice for the sale and transfer of the attached properties has been duly served under the provisions of the UA(P) Act.

He said the attachment is linked to case FIR No. 94/2024 of Police Station Zainapora and was executed in the presence of a duly constituted police team and the Executive Magistrate, ensuring full compliance with legal protocols.

This action represents a significant milestone in the ongoing investigation into unlawful and subversive activities in the region, and also highlights the firm commitment of Shopian Police to neutralize threats to national security and maintain peace and order, the spokesperson said.

Shopian Police, in close coordination with other agencies, remains resolute in its mission to take stringent action against individuals and entities involved in activities that jeopardize the nation’s sovereignty and integrity, he added.
