Why KL Rahul and Lucknow Super Giants have parted ways? | Cricket News

MUMBAI: India batsman KL Rahul moved on from Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to “professional and personal reasons,” TOI has learnt.
On August 26, Rahul had travelled to Kolkata to meet LSG owner, Sanjiv Goenka, at the latter’s office in Alipore, sparking speculation that he could continue as the LSG captain.
However, it eventually emerged that LSG and Rahul were set to part ways.
“LSG were ready to offer top retention bracket to Rahul, but Rahul eventually decided to move on due to personal and professional reasons,” a source told TOI.
Set to go into the auction pool, Rahul, who captained LSG for three seasons taking them to the playoffs twice, could be a hot buy, especially as he offers captaincy skills.
“At the moment, there are four franchises who have expressed their interest in him – Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings. Expect all four to go hard for him in the auction,” a source told TOI.
The 32-year-old Rahul wasn’t part of India’s T20 World Cup-winning team in June, but is vastly experienced in the format having played 72 T20Is, in which he has scored 2265 runs at an average of 37.75.
