Zenless Zone Zero Details New Character Jane Doe’s Kit

Zenless Zone Zero has officially revealed the gameplay kit for upcoming S-Rank character Jane Doe, debuting during the second half of the game’s ongoing Version 1.1 update. The newest HoYoverse RPG’s first post-launch update has already offered one of the game’s most highly-anticipated characters during its first half’s limited gacha banner. Version 1.1’s launch introduced Qingyi to the playable roster, with the New Eridu Public Security member quickly becoming one of the game’s most powerful Stun characters. Now, the game’s next character is gearing up to make her appearance.

Zenless Zone Zero‘s newest character has already been teased through the game’s most recent story quest, subtitled “Undercover R&B.” Jane is introduced as a fellow member of New Eridu Public Security alongside Zhu Yuan and Qingyi, working in the organization’s Criminal Investigation Special Response Team. Jane was initially confirmed as one of Version 1.1’s two playable five-star characters, revealed to be debuting as a Physical Anomaly character. Now, HoYoverse is providing all the details about the gameplay for Zenless Zone Zero‘s newest S-Rank unit.

Zenless Zone Zero officially revealed Jane Doe’s gameplay early Saturday morning with its newest “Agent Mechanics” post. Jane’s Additional Ability provides her with bonus Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate when paired up with other Anomaly specialty characters or other members of the Special Response Team. Jane’s Core Skill features a unique mechanic referred to as “Passion Stream,” which provides her with additional Physical damage and Anomaly Buildup Rate. Her Ultimate deals heavy AoE Physical damage and immediately refreshes her Passion Stream meter.

Zenless Zone Zero Reveals Jane Doe’s Gameplay

• S-Rank Physical Anomaly character
• Additional Ability (Sore Spot): When another Agent in your squad is an Anomaly Agent or from the Criminal Investigation Special Response Team: Jane’s Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate is increased by 20%. When the enemy is already suffering from an Attribute Anomaly, Jane’s Physical Anomaly Buildup towards the target is increased by an additional 15%.
• Core Skill: When Jane unleases a skill that deals DMG to an enemy, she accumulates Passion Stream. When it reaches its limit, Jane enters the Passion state. While in this state, Jane’s Physical Anomaly Buildup Rate and ATK will increase. When Jane deals DMG while in the Passion State, Passion Stream is consumed. Triggering Perfect Dodge or Defensive Assist will recover Passion Stream. When Passion Stream has been depleted, Jane’s Passion state ends.
• When entering the Passion State, hold Normal Attack to trigger a Basic Attack: Salchow Jump. Jane will launch rapid consecutive attacks in front, followed by a Finishing Move, dealing Physical DMG, and recovering Passion Stream. During a consecutive attack, keep holding down to extend the skill duration. Release to trigger the Finishing Move earlier.
• Ultimate (Final Curtain): Weaves between and slashes enemies in front, followed by a Finishing Move, dealing massive Physical DMG. Upon activating this skill, Jane immediately enters the Passion state, fully restoring Passion Stream.

Jane’s gameplay is expected to provide significant Physical damage for players looking for a new heavy damage option for their teams. She will likely pair well with past Anomaly characters, like Grace and Piper, alongside Zenless Zone Zero‘s other Criminal Investigation Team members. Jane will also release alongside another new roster member from New Eridu Public Security, with new four-star character Seth debuting during the banner. Jane Doe will release in Zenless Zone Zero early next week on September 4.

The addition of Jane and Seth to Zenless Zone Zero will bring a new factor to the game’s early meta that has seen a few particular characters dominate. Zenless Zone Zero‘s launch limited S-Rank character, Ellen Joe, has commonly been seen as the game’s most powerful Attack character by a wide margin. The game’s other limited S-Ranks in Zhu Yuan and Qingyi have similarly impressed, with each seeing high usage rates in Zenless Zone Zero‘s Shiyu Defense game mode. Jane’s addition to Zenless Zone Zero will look to provide a powerful new option for players looking to build their teams around Anomaly.
