Medi Assist’s PUM registers uptick of 18.1% to Rs 10,583 cr in H1 FY25, ET HealthWorld
New Delhi: Medi Assist Healthcare Services Ltd ended the first half of the current fiscal year with a total premium under management (PUM) of Rs 10,583 crore, registering an uptick of 18.1 per cent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis.
During the period the group’s PUM grew 15.6 per cent YoY to reach Rs 9,343 crore and the retail PUM was Rs 1,240 crore, which is 41.2 per cent higher than the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Furthermore, the operating EBITDA stood at Rs 73.7 crore at an operating revenue margin of 21.1 per cent, that is 18.1 per cent higher to the previous financial year half yearly figures.
“We are pleased with our steady growth in a seasonally soft quarter for the industry. As the synergies from acquisitions continue to accrue, our margins are seeing an uptick. Further to regulatory initiatives, we are upbeat about the prospects of the health insurance ecosystem and the opportunities for Medi Assist to play a pivotal role,” said Satish Gidugu, CEO, Medi Assist.
The company’s market share in terms of health insurance premium administered (group + retail), of the total health premium in India, was 19.2 per cent as on September 30, 2024, as against 18.5 per cent in the year ago period.
As per the half yearly figures in H1 FY25, group segment market share was 28.4 per cent , as against 27.3 per cent while their retail segment market share was 5.6 per cent, as against 4.7 per cent of H1 FY24.
