• Pilot: Certificate of competency as Master of a Foreign-going ship issued by the Ministry of Shipping or an equivalent qualification.
• Safety Inspector:
  • Degree in Physics or Chemistry or Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics Engineering.
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• Manager (Marine Engineering): MOT II class motor certificate issued under Merchant Shipping Act, 1958.

Experience Required

• Pilot: 1 year as Master/Chief Officer on a foreign-going ship.
• Safety Inspector: 5 years of experience in a port or industrial unit handling hazardous goods.
• Manager (Marine Engineering): 2 years as an independent watch-keeping engineer on board a foreign-going ship.
