Telangana Medical Council Takes Action Against 41 Fake Doctors, Exposes Health Risks, ET HealthWorld
Hyderabad: Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) has lodged complaints against 41 fake doctors/RMPs/PMPs in Khammam. Police have registered cases under sections of the NMC Act and TSMPR Act.
“These individuals are treating beyond their qualifications, catering to the needs of innocent people, and playing havoc with public health,”
TMC vice chairman Dr Gundagani Srinivas said, adding that according to the NMC Act, no one should prescribe allopathic medicines without registration with the Council.
“The law imposes a one-year imprisonment and a fine of up to 5 lakh for violations. RMPs/PMPs are not real doctors and have no qualifications to practice allopathy. Knowingly or unknowingly, the antibiotic and steroid injections given unscientifically can cause more health problems in the long run. People should not be fooled by RMPs/PMPs who are fake doctors,” he added.
