BSNL connects Aru Valley with state-of-art 4G mobile network services
Srinagar, Dec 09: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) J&K has achieved a significant milestone by connecting the Aru Valley and Mandlan area with state-of-the-art 4G technology, which is upgradable to 5G mobile services, along with fibre-based high-speed internet (FTTH) services.
This development addresses the long-standing and much-needed telecommunication demand of these remote areas.
The connectivity, as per officials has been established through challenging terrain spanning over 20 km, utilizing advanced ADSS-based fibre technology.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal General Manager Telecommunications, Kashmir, Arvind Pandey (ITS), described this achievement as a cherished goal since his joining in 2023. He emphasized his commitment to bringing cutting-edge technological advancements to remote areas where no other operator has ventured so far.
These efforts have extended connectivity to distant regions such as Keran, Tangdar, Gurez, Aharbal, Naranag Gurwatan, and numerous other locations, he said.
The initiative has not only empowered the local population with modern technology but has also positively impacted socio-economic development, education, administration, and tourism. The enhanced connectivity also ensures all-weather access for tourists and hoteliers, integrating digital technology into daily life in these areas, he also said.
Pandey at the occasion interacted with the local population, who expressed their gratitude and happiness for BSNL’s efforts. He was accompanied by Deputy GM BSNL (Transmission Srinagar) A K Sharma, Divisional Engineer BSNL Anantnag Peer Bilal Ahmad, and Divisional Engineer Mobile Services Srinagar Shukla, among others.
He lauded the efforts of the BA Srinagar team in successfully implementing the 4G Saturation Project, and expressed confidence that BSNL will continue to provide reliable and affordable telecom services in the coming months.
