Choreographer-director Farah Khan and director Sajid Khan are grieving the loss of their mother, Menka Irani, who passed away last week in Mumbai. A week after her death, a prayer meet was held at Zoya Akhtar’s home, which was attended by close friends and family.
Farah Khan made her first public appearance since her mother’s passing, appearing serious but briefly smiling for the cameras before leaving with her children.The event saw attendees like Karan Johar, Bhavana Panday, Ananya Panday, Maheep Kapoor and daughter Shanaya Kapoor, Manish Malhotra and Farhan Akhtar with his wife Shibani Dandekar.
Earlier in the day, Sajid Khan shared a touching post on social media, featuring a black-and-white childhood photograph with his mother. In the picture, a young Sajid is seen smiling with Menka, who lovingly wraps her arm around him. Sajid’s caption expressed his grief, saying, “Still can’t believe you are gone…love u forever mummy…”

Menka Irani passed away on July 26 at the age of 79. Farah Khan had recently shared a heartfelt Instagram post on her mother’s birthday, reflecting on her strength and sense of humor despite undergoing multiple surgeries. “This last month has been a revelation on how much I love my mom Menka. She’s been the strongest, bravest person I’ve ever seen,” Farah wrote.
Many celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Shilpa Shetty, Bhushan Kumar, and MC Stan, visited Farah’s home to offer their condolences.

Menka Irani, the sister of well-known child actors Daisy Irani and Honey Irani, had a brief acting career, including a role in the 1963 film Bachpan alongside her sister Daisy. She had been battling an illness for some time before her passing.
