Girls’ Hostel Catches Fire in North Kashmir




   

SRINAGAR: Fire engulfed a three-storey building housing a girls’ hostel in Gulgam village of Kupwara district on Sunday evening.

 

The hostel, operated by the Social Welfare Department, sustained significant damage, but all the girls were evacuated safely, averting any casualties.

 

The fire broke out around dusk, triggering an immediate response from fire tenders stationed at Trehgam and Kralpora. Firefighters battled relentlessly to contain the flames and protect nearby buildings from the blaze.

 

Authorities have launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire. (KINS)
