Health Department Distributes MMDP Kits to Filariasis Patients in Kanpur, ET HealthWorld

Kanpur: The health department distributed Morbidity Management and Disability Prevention (MMDP) kits to more than 50 filariasis patients at various Ayushman Arogya Mandirs of Sarsaul Block on Friday.

Training regarding utilisation of kit was provided at numerous Arogya Mandirs in Sarsoul block. District Malaria Officer, Arun Kumar Singh said, “Filaria is an infectious disease. Whilst incurable, proper care can provide substantial relief. The affected body part requires regular cleansing and exercise.”

The MDMP kit comprises a bucket, mug, towel, tub, soap and cream. The beneficiaries received guidance regarding cream application for cuts or infections on the affected area. Daily adherence to this regimen safeguards the affected organs and provides relief. Additionally, patients must perform daily exercises whilst standing on their heels.
