The second ODI between Pakistan and Australia in Adelaide on Friday witnessed banter between visiting skipper Mohammad Rizwan and Adam Zampa, which was caught on the stump microphone and went viral on social media.
Australia faced the heat against a steaming Haris Rauf, who ran through the Aussie middle-order with his spell of 5 for 29, which saw the hosts collapse to 163 all out in 35 overs.
The hilarious exchange of words between Pakistan wicketkeeper Rizwan and the Australian leg-spinner Zampa came in the 34th over bowled by Naseem Shah, who appealed for an edge as his bouncer went past the bat while Zampa tried to play a pull shot. The umpire declared it a wide for height.
Australia were 153 for 9 at that stage.
“You heard something?” Rizwan asked Zampa, to which the Australian replied: “You are appealing for everything?”
Rizwan then playfully consulted Zampa, “Should I take the review?”
Zampa said: “Yes, you should.”
Heeding to Zampa’s advice, Rizwan signalled for the review, but it turned out that the ball touched nothing before entering Rizwan’s gloves.
