‘I am not like other leaders’: Arvind Kejriwal promises to waive inflated water, electricity bills if AAP returns to power in Delhi | Delhi News
NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party‘s (AAP) national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, on Saturday promised to waive inflated water and electricity bills if his party returns to power after next year’s Delhi assembly elections.
Speaking at an event in Transport Nagar on Vishwakarma Day, Kejriwal said, “I am not a politician like leaders from other parties. For the past 10 years, I have worked for the development of the people. I have been educated by the institute of the country, so I know how to work.”
Kejriwal highlighted his time in jail, related to the Delhi liquor policy scam, mentioning that during his absence, the lieutenant governor managed the city’s government and people received inflated bills.
“Do not worry. Now I am out and your bills will be waived when the AAP comes into power in February,” said Kejriwal.
Kejriwal claimed that under AAP, Delhi had seen comprehensive development in areas such as education and healthcare, including free bus services for women. He urged voters to consider the achievements of the party, stating, “Vote for those who have worked. I am not saying that vote for the AAP. Ask the BJP what they have done for your children; I challenge them to show one single work they have done for the people of Delhi.”
The Delhi legislative assembly elections are scheduled for February next year.
