Indian Army Recruitment 2024: The Indian Army has released the official notification inviting applications from interested and eligible unmarried male/female candidates (Law Graduates) for the grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for the Judge Advocate General Branch. Eligible and interested candidates are required to apply online through the Indian Army Website, www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. The last date for submission of online applications is 28 Nov 2024 AT 1500 HRS.

The rank after training will be Lieutenant. As mentioned in the official notification of the Indian Army the age limit for the mentioned posts is between 21 years and 27 years old (age relaxation as per rules). Candidates selected for said positions will be paid a salary of Rs 56,100 Per month. The selection of applicants will be based on an SSB Interview.

Eligibility Criteria of Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme Recruitment 2024

Below we have summarized the required eligibility criteria such as qualification required, age limit, experience, etc. Candidates are advised to go through the eligibility criteria before applying for any post mentioned in the notification.

1. Nationality: Candidates must be unmarried males/females and citizens of India or eligible subjects from specified countries.

2. Age Limit: 21 to 27 years as on 01 Jul 2025.

3. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have an LLB Degree (three years professional after graduation or five years after 10 plus 2) examination. In addition, CLAT PG 2024 Score is mandatory for all candidates (including LLM-qualified and LLM-appearing candidates) who apply for courses starting in a particular year. The candidates should be eligible for registration as an advocate with Bar Council of India/State.

Selection Process

The selection procedure includes Application > Shortlisting > SSB > Medical > Merit List > Joining Letter.

• Shortlisting of Applications: Based on the cut-off marks, candidates will be shortlisted for the next stage.
• SSB Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will undergo the SSB interview at designated centres, followed by a medical examination.
• Final Selection: Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will receive joining letters based on merit.

Steps to Apply

Candidates who wish to apply for the mentioned posts should follow the steps mentioned below:-

• Click on ‘Officer Entry Appln/Login’ and then click ‘Registration’ (Registration is not required, if already registered on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
• Fill out the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully.
• After getting registered, click on ‘Apply Online’ under Dashboard. A page ‘Officers Selection – ‘Eligibility’ will open.
• Then click ‘Apply’ shown against the Short Service Commission Technical Course.
• Read the instructions carefully and click ‘Continue’ to fill details as required.
• ‘Save & Continue’ each time before you go to the next segment.
• After filling details click on ‘Submit’.
• The candidates are required to take out two copies of their application having Roll Number, 30 minutes after the final closure of the online application on the last day.
