Injured in road mishap two weeks ago, doctor from Sopore succumbs at SKIMS 

Sopore, Nov 18: A doctor from Sopore, who was injured two weeks ago in a hit and run case near his home in Upper Ashpeer area of north Kashmir’s Sopore, succumbed at SKIMS, Soura last night.

An official said, on 05 November 2024, at about 7.30 pm one unknown motorcyclist had hit and injured one pedestrian namely Dr Azhar Hassan Janwari S/o late Ghulam Hassan Janwari, age about 48 years, resident of Upper Ashpeer Sopore.

The injured doctor was rushed to hospital by some locals, where from he had been shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for specialized treatment, however after remaining under treatment for two weeks, he died last night.

The accused motorcyclist fled from the spot and the case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Sopore and investigation was set in to motion, official said.
