Kashmir likely to see further dip in temp by 2-3 degrees Celsius from Dec 24-25: MeT
Srinagar, Dec 23: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar Monday forecast further fall in temperature by 2-3°C in Jammu and Kashmir during December 24 to 25.
It also said that cold wave conditions at isolated places of Jammu and Kashmir to continue till December 26.
An official said that the weather will remain generally cloudy with light snow over isolated higher reaches of Jammu & Kashmir today.
From December 24-26 there will be generally dry weather conditions. Also from December 27-28 there is a possibility of generally cloudy with light rain over plains of Jammu, and light snow over higher reaches of Chenab valley, and Pir Panchal range towards 27th late afternoon to 28 forenoon, the official said.
From December 29-30 the weather will remain likely dry, while on December 31 there is possibility of cloudy weather conditions with light snow at isolated higher reaches.
From January 1-3, the weather will remain generally cloudy with light snow at isolated to scattered places of J&K, he said.
The official cautioned that there is a possibility of fall in minimum temperature by 2-3°C during December 24-26, while as cold wave conditions to continue at isolated places till December 26.
In view of fresh snowfall, sub-freezing temperature and icy conditions over roads of important passes and higher reaches, the official advised tourists, travelers and transporters to follow weather and traffic advisories from administration and traffic department to avoid inconvenience.
