“As predicted, light snowfall was generally observed in some plains during the early morning hours, while some higher reaches have recorded a heavy spell of snow,” read a post on X by an independent weather forecaster.

He said that weather will remain dry in J&K during the next 12 hours, with chances of rain and snow in some areas. “Overall, no major spell is expected,” he said.

From tomorrow onwards, mostly dry weather is expected for a week, said the forecaster on his X page, ‘Kashmir Weather’.

As per footage shared on social media by the residents, fresh snowfall was recorded in Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Tangmarg.
