SRINAGAR: A militant associate was arrested along with arms and ammunition at Janbazpora Binner Road in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday.
A senior police officer said that, acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of police and security forces apprehended the individual at Janbazpora Binner Road.
“The arrested individual has been identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Naganad Damhal Hanji Pora, Kulgam. An AK rifle, a magazine, and other ammunition were recovered from his possession,” the officer said.
A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway, the officer added. (GNS)
