Multi-lingual singer Suchetha Satish, a Guinness World Record holder, to perform at the Soorya Festival in Thiruvananthapuram
“My motto has always been music beyond boundaries,” says 19-year-old Suchetha Satish, who is set to perform a multi-lingual international concert titled Music Beyond Borders on December 6 at the Soorya Festival in Thiruvananthapuram. This marks the first time in the 47-year history of the festival that such an event is being held, say the organisers. Organised by the Soorya Stage and Film Society, the concert will feature Suchetha singing in 150 languages from Europe, Africa and India, among others.
The artiste, originally from Kannur, currently holds a Guinness World Record for singing in the most languages in a concert, with 140 languages performed in over nine hours. The musical performance was a prelude to the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), which took place in Dubai in 2023.

In 2024, Suchetha performed a medley of five songs for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at The St Regis Abu Dhabi and was applauded by him.
At the age of 10, Suchetha got into singing songs in foreign languages. She listened to a Japanese song played by her friend from Japan, while dropping her off at the airport. “I really liked the song, so I looked it up on YouTube and learnt it. I was able to send it to her before she reached Tokyo. She told me I sounded like a native Japanese singer,” says Suchetha.
Two years later, at an event, she set two world records — for the most languages sung in a concert, and the longest concert by a child — after she sang in 102 languages, in 6 hours and 15 minutes.
Pursuing an undergraduate course in digital media and communications at the Middlesex University, Dubai campus, Suchetha is being trained by veteran Malayalam music director Jerry Amaldev and playback singer Asha G Menon.
Suchetha, who made her playback debut with an Arabic song in Manju Warrier’s Ayisha (2023), recently sang the track ‘Etho yamangalil’ composed by Ranjin Raj in the Malayalam movie, Anand Sreebala. Suchetha was also featured in the reality show X Factor Arabia this year.
The singer has also recorded another song for web series with Ranjin Raj
Suchetha says, “I want to continue learning songs in different languages. It’s been a part of me since a very young age. I also want to do more international performances; I have already begun performing in UAE and Bhutan.” She adds, “I also want to learn to speak the languages. Currently, I am learning Turkish.”
Suchetha Satish will perform Music Beyond Border- A Multilingual International Concert at the 47th Soorya Festival on December 6 at 7.30pm. at Ganesham Soorya Naataka Kalari, Thycaud.
