Omar Abdullah expresses condolences on demise of former KU VC Prof Abdul Wahid Qureshi

Srinagar, Nov 17: Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Professor Abdul Wahid Qureshi, the former Vice Chancellor of the University of Kashmir.

Remembering the late academician, Omar Abdullah described him as a “remarkable individual” who made outstanding contributions to academia and administration.

“Wahid Sahib was a philosopher, an administrator, and a visionary who revolutionized higher education with his unwavering dedication,” CM Omar stated.

He highlighted Professor Qureshi’s efforts to enhance quality research and administrative efficiency across institutions.

“Professor Wahid’s enduring legacy will inspire future generations in their pursuit of excellence,” CM said, offering his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

He concluded with a prayer, “Allah (SWT) marhoom ki magfirat kare, Ameen.
