Omar Abdullah – Home Minister Amit Shah meeting on statehood begins in New Delhi

Jammu , December 19: An important meeting has begun in north block in New Delhi on Jammu and Kashmir in which Chief Minister Omar Abdullah will plead for restoration of of the statehood to J&K, as per promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
The meeting is taking place in the backdrop of friction between Lieutenant Governor and elected government over the powers between them . Omar is not happy with this dual power centre in J&K. He has alleged that double control system is a recipe for disaster in J&K.
Home Minister , however, has assured that J&K will be granted status of state at an appropriate time.
The outcome of this meeting is eagerly awaited.
