Pahalgam to Host Winter Carnival on the Evening of January 2nd
SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Department has announced the Winter Carnival in Pahalgam is set to take place on the evening of January 2. The event aims to promote the scenic destination and attract tourists throughout the year.
Officials said that the carnival will be held at the Pahalgam Club, starting at 4 PM, and is expected to see a substantial turnout. The initiative seeks to ensure Pahalgam remains a vibrant tourist hub, drawing both locals and visitors.
“The event will showcase Kashmiri cuisine and handicrafts, highlighting unique cultural offerings available only in Kashmir. We want to provide tourists with an opportunity to experience the richness of our region,” the official added.
With the recent snowfall boosting the region’s appeal, the official expressed optimism for a thriving winter tourism season next year. Currently, 50–70% of hotels with proper heating arrangements are occupied, indicating strong tourist interest. All stakeholders in Pahalgam are fully prepared to welcome visitors.
“We are ready with enthusiasm to ensure a memorable experience for our guests,” the official said. He also urged new tourists to visit Pahalgam to enjoy its natural beauty, warm hospitality, and local cuisine.
