Pakistan deal with T20 World Cup heartbreak with win over India in Asian Squash Championship

After an early exit from T20 World Cup, their was something to cheer for Pakistan fans as PAK beat IND in quarters of Asian Squash Championship.

It was a heartbreak for the Pakistan cricket team fans as Babar Azam & Co. were ousted from the T20 World Cup after the IRE vs USA match was washed out in Lauderhill, Florida on Friday. Their chances of making it to the Super 8 rested on the result of this match, and also PAK vs IRE match..but as ill fate would have it, weather played its part to throw Pakistan out of competition.

PAK Beat IND in Asian Team Squash Championship

But there was some remedy for the heart broken Pakistani fans, as elsewhere, in squash, PAK beat IND 2-1 in the quarterfinals of the Asian Team Squash Championships on Friday. They have now made it to the semis and will face Hong Kong on Saturday. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Asim Khan started the campaign for them with a 3-0 win over Rahul Baitha of India.

In the second tie, Velavan Senthilkumar won against Nasir Iqbal 3-0. From there on, Noor Zaman secured yet another win over Suraj Kumar Chand, to progress in the tournament. Talking about the loss, as per Geo.Tv, Pakistan coach Fahim Gul went on to say that Iqbal was down with fever, and couldn’t give his 100%.

But, nonetheless, he was elated from the win against India. As far as Pakistan’s performance in the Asian Squash Championship is concerned, they are yet to lose a tie in Pool C, having played South Korea, Chinese Taipei and China earlier. They beat Taipei 3-0, then Korea 2-1, and China 3-0.
