Pakistan drop to eighth in World Test Championship standings after loss to Bangladesh and over rate penalty
NEW DELHI: Pakistan cricket team has fallen to eighth place in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings after a 10-wicket defeat to Bangladesh and an over rate penalty in the first Test of the series in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan now hold 16 points with a winning percentage of 22.22, placing them just ahead of the West Indies.
The loss to Bangladesh is a significant blow for Pakistan, further compounded by a six-point penalty for maintaining a slow over rate.Pakistan fell six overs short of the required rate during the match.Bangladesh’s victory in Rawalpindi is historic as it marks their first-ever Test win against Pakistan.
