Party delegation from Trehgam calls on Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari
Briefs him on local public issues, including inadequate compensation for land acquired for the bypass

Srinagar, December 3: A delegation comprising Apni Party leaders from Trehgam on Tuesday met the party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, at the party headquarters in Srinagar.
According to a press release issued here, the delegation was led by Dr. Noor-ud-din Shah, the party In-charge for the Trehgam constituency.
The members of the delegation apprised the party president of various public issues and grievances.
They stated that local residents, whose land has been acquired for the construction of the bypass, are furious as they are being offered inadequate compensation for their land.
They said, “For the construction of the bypass road from Hayan to Gugloosa, the gadministration has fixed the compensation at Rs 5.5 lakh per kanal, whereas for the same road, compensation to the landowners in Kupwara has been sanctioned at the rate of Rs 18 lakh per kanal.”
“People, who stand to lose their land due to this project, have been demanding a revision of the compensation amount before the disbursement, and before the work begins on the ground,” the delegation members said.
As per the press release, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari gave a patient hearing to the visiting delegation and assured them that he would bring their concerns to the notice of the concerned officials for prompt redressal.
On this occasion, Dr. Noor-ud-din Shah also briefed the party president on certain party matters.
