PM Modi to watch Vikrant Massey’s ‘The Sabarmati Report’ film in Parliament complex today
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will watch the movie The Sabarmati Report on Monday (December 2, 2024) evening.
The Prime Minister will go to the Balyogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building to watch the movie starring Vikrant Massey, officials said.
Directed by Dheeraj Sarna, the film claims to reveal the truth behind the fire incident in the Sabarmati Express at Godhra on February 27, 2002, killing 59 devotees returning from Ayodhya after participating in a religious ceremony.
The film also stars Raashi Khanna and Ridhi Dogra in key roles.
‘The Sabarmati Report’ made tax-free in 6 states
Uttar Pradesh on November 22 became the sixth BJP-ruled state, after Haryana, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat, to exempt The Sabarmati Report.
A spokesperson for the state government stated that Chief Minister Adityanath, along with several cabinet colleagues, attended a special screening of The Sabarmati Report at a cinema hall in the capital. Vikrant Massey and other members of the film’s team were also present at the event.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav-led Madhya Pradesh government declared that the film would be made tax free and also said he will also go to watch the movie.
While accusing the opposition of playing “dirty politics” on the Godhra incident for vote bank, Mr. Yadav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was then the Chief Minister of Gujarat, saved the honour of the State and the country.
