‘Pushpa 2’: Bengaluru Urban DC cancels early morning shows of Allu Arjun’s film

The Bengaluru Urban District Deputy Commissioner cancelled the early morning shows of the highly-anticipated movie Pushpa 2: The Ruleinthe city. Starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, the movie hits the screens worldwide on December 05, 2024.

Hours before it’s release day, Bengaluru Urban District Deputy Commissioner issued a notice, instructing theatre owners to cancel midnight and early morning shows (3:00 am and 4:00 am of the movie) of the pan-Indian movie. Around 40 single screens in Bengaluru were asked to cancel their shows.

According to the Karnataka Cinemas (Regulation) Act 1964, no cinema hall must exhibit their first show before 6:30 am and the last show of a film must begin after 10:30 pm. Pushpa 2 isn’t the first film to violate the rules as other big releases of 2024 across industries were screened early in the morning.

Pushpa 2 is a sequel to the hit movie Pushpa: The Rise. Breaking several box office records, the Sukumar-directorial emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2021.
