2025 Vs 2024: Comparative analysis of top Asian universities at QS Asia rankings
The QS rankings of the top three universities have remained unchanged. However, their scores have improved. Peking University has remained an undisputed leader in the QS World University Rankings for Asia in 2025, maintaining a perfect score of 100, consistent with its 2024 performance. The University of Hong Kong follows closely in second place, improving its score to 99.7, up from 97.9 last year. Meanwhile, the National University of Singapore (NUS) has maintained its position to third with a score of 98.9, compared to 97.2 in 2024.
A notable shift in the rankings is the decline of Tsinghua University, which has fallen from 4th place in 2024 to 7th in 2025, with a score of 96.3. This decline comes as Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore), which was tied with Tsinghua for 4th place last year, now claims the 4th spot with an improved score of 98.3, up from 96.1. Fudan University has seen a significant rise, climbing from 7th place in 2024 to 5th in 2025 with an impressive score of 97.2.
