Jaipur: The health department has assigned each blood bank to collect 250 units of blood during Ayushman Arogya camps scheduled for Dec 15. These camps are being organised to mark the completion of the first year of the Bhajan Lal Sharma govt.

The department aims at collecting 60,000 units of blood statewide in a single day through these camps. Currently, there are 194 private blood banks and 65 others run by the govt in the state. Principal secretary of health department, Gayatri Rathore, has instructed district collectors via a written communication to arrange blood donation camps and motivate potential donors.

A senior official of the department indicated that blood banks will liaise with educational institutions, including private engineering, medical and nursing colleges, along with NGOs, Rotary clubs, and Red Cross Society, to encourage youth participation in blood donation.

District collectors have also received instructions to seek assistance from govt departments, NGOs, and public representatives through coordinated meetings to ensure successful blood donation drives.

The health department is organising Chief Minister Ayushman Arogya Camps across the state to commemorate the first anniversary of the BJP govt. These camps will focus on health screenings and early detection of diseases. The health department is collaborating with panchayati raj and revenue departments for publicity, while the education department will promote awareness through rallies and various other activities, said officials.
