JKSET LASET 2024: The University of Jammu has invited online applications for JKSET / LASET 2024 on its official website. JKSET/LASET is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for Assistant Professor, is only valid for Universities and Colleges of UT of J&K (JKSET) and UT of Ladakh (LASET). The JKSET exam is set to be held on 20-10-2024 for 39 subjects. The University of Jammu (Nodal Agency) will conduct SET in 41 subjects (Table 1) at three Centres – Jammu, Srinagar and Leh.
Candidates are informed that online registration is ongoing at the official website and interested candidates must apply at https://www.jujkset.in. The Last date for successful transaction/ submission of Examination fee without late fee is extended to 20 July, 2024 and Last date for successful transaction/ submission of Examination fee with late fee of Rs.600/- is extended to 25 July, 2024.
JKSET 2024 is an offline examination that consists of two papers: Paper- I and Paper- II. Both of the papers comprise multiple-choice questions. +2 marks are allotted for each correct response, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect answers.

JKSET/LASET Eligibility 2024: Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying.
- Candidates who have achieved 55% or more equivalent marks in their Master’s Degree from universities/Institutions approved by UGC are eligible to apply to the JKSET 2024.
- There would be a relaxation of 5% in the minimum marks required for the SC/ST/Other Reserved Class/Persons with Disabilities (PwD)/Transgender candidates.
- Candidates who have cleared or have appeared in their master’s exam and candidates whose results are still awaited or whose exams have been postponed can also apply for the JKSET 2024.
- However, These candidates will be allowed provisionally. They will be accepted as assistant professors after passing the Master’s exam or equivalent to 55% or higher (50% for candidates for the SC/ST/OBC/PwD category).
- Ph.D. holders who passed the Master’s degree exam by September 19, 1991, receive a 5% aggregate score relaxation for taking the JKSET 2023 exam.
- Transgender category candidates are eligible to receive the same fee and age exemptions as those granted to SC, ST, and PWD categories.
- Candidates who have already passed the UGC NET/CSIR NET exam before 1989 are not required to take the JKSET 2024 exam.
- There is no upper age limit for applying for the examination.
Application Fee: The application fee for General category candidates is Rs. 1100/-, for OBC (NCL)/RBA/ALC-IB/PSP/WUP/EWS is Rs. 880 and for Transgender/SC/ST/PwD is Rs.660/-. JKSET 2024 application fee must be paid online using a Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking.

- Visit the official website of the University of Jammu.
- Click on the JKSET/LASET tab available on the homepage.
- Read the important information before processing the application form.
- Pay application fees using a Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking. Candidates must register the Payment Transaction Reference Number and select the UT for which they wish to apply.
- Upload Photo and Signature (Recent and Visible Photograph) in JPG/JPEG Format and file size less than 50kb.
- Fill in the personal information, contact information, academic information, and government ID number.
- Select the Exam centre and subject.
- Submit the JKSET 2024 application form and take a printout of the application form for further reference.

Exam Pattern: The design and scheme of question papers for SET is adopted same as prescribed for NET conducted by the UGC/CSIR/NTA. There shall be two papers in each subject. Both the papers will have only objective type questions of (a) Multiple Choice, (b) Matching, (c) Assertion and Reasoning and (d) True and False. The test will be held on a day in two separate sessions. The details about the papers as under
