Soldier Succumbs to Firearm Injury in Jammu Kashmir’s Poonch
SRINAGAR: A soldier succumbed to a firearm injury in Poonch district on Sunday, officials said.
Official sources said that a gunshot was heard, and the soldier was found in a pool of blood at his posting in the Sawajian Mandi area of the district. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the soldier, a resident of Rajasthan, was declared dead by the attending doctors.
The circumstances surrounding his death—whether it was a case of suicide or due to other reasons—are currently under investigation. Further details will be shared as the inquiry progresses, officials added. (GNS)
