Sopore Police apprehend two suspected persons, arms & ammunition recovered

Srinagar, Dec 22: Two suspected persons were apprehended within the jurisdiction of Sopore Police on Sunday with arms and ammunition recovered from their possession, police said.

In a statement, the police reported that a joint naka was set up on December 21, 2024, at around 18:30 hours by Sopore Police, the Army’s 32 RR, and CRPF 92 in the jurisdiction of Police Station Dangiwacha in Rafiabad.

Police identified the persons as Rashid Ahmad Bhat, son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat, and Sajed Ismail Haru, son of Mohammad Ismail Haru, both the residents of Arwani Bijbehara Anantnag.

During the search, arms, ammunition, mobile phones, and other items were recovered from their possession.

An FIR No. 80/24 under relevant sections of the law has been registered at Police Station Dangiwacha, and further investigation is underway.
