Tourism Dept Establishes Control Room to Aid Winter Visitors in Kashmir
SRINAGAR: The Tourism Department has appointed nodal officers to support and assist tourists visiting Kashmir during the ongoing winter season.
According to an order, three Deputy Directors of Tourism have been designated as nodal officers for South, Central, and North Kashmir.
As per the order, Malik Waseem has been appointed as the nodal officer for South Kashmir (mobile: 7006856600), while Nasir Mehmood Khan (9622669777) and Asif Iqbal (7006707274) have been designated as nodal officers for North and Central Kashmir, respectively.
The nodal officers will work under the supervision of Dr S. D. Chowdary, Deputy Director of Tourism, Enforcement (SSP) (9797066007).
“The nodal officers shall closely liaise with the concerned resort officers and district administrations/departments for the timely resolution of issues,” the order states.
Resort officers and Tourist Police have been appointed for key tourist destinations, including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Sonamarg, and Doodpathri.
Additionally, a control room has been established at the Tourist Reception Centre (TRC) in Srinagar to provide seamless assistance to tourists and respond to emergencies during the winter.
The control room team includes Nisar Rasool, Assistant Director Tourism (9906663868), Azad Yaseen (7006886562), Gowhar Raffiee (7006580763) – both Assistant Tourist Officers, Sidharth Sathoo (7889727957), Rahul Pandita (7006389514), and Vishant Pandita (7298506506) – all receptionists, as well as Zahida Parveen MT (6005917704) and Abdul Rashid Bhat MT Reception Counter (7889451394).
